Areopolis, is an exciting view of a town that was hard fought. It was here in Areopoli that 12,000 Maniots gathered on 17 March 1821, raising their white revolutionary flag, which bore the words “Victory or Death”.

This town is a blend of Greek, Italian and Ottoman cultures. The land is divided by hard rock walls - truly reflective of the culture in this small mountain village. It's now named after "Black Michael" -

It's built on a huge mountain of marble and is constructed from that same rock.
